Newsletter December 2013

Hello everyone! Here is the latest.

CALMAC’s CEO, Mark MacCracken will be honored at the USGBC Urban Green Council Gala. This annual celebration honors the contributions of leading professionals who help advocate the mission of advancing the sustainability of urban buildings.

CALMAC was alive and well at GreenBuild 2013, the largest greenbuilding conference and expo in the world. While exhibiting, CALMAC had the honor of David Gottfried, the father LEED, in the CALMAC booth autographing his new book “Explosion Green”.

During the conference, USGBC announced a new LEED v4 program with an important update; a new demand response credit that addresses peak electrical load reductions with methods like thermal energy storage. Also, at GreenBuild, USGBC’s President, CEO and Founding Chair Rick Fredrizzi spoke in his keynote about new tools such as the Green Building Information Gateway (GBIG), where people can find new ways to put a fine point on the best strategies, validate them, evaluate them and send them in real time, around the world.

Why don’t you explore CALMAC’s collection of 23 LEED projects listed on the GBIG website and share them with your social network?

In other news, GreenTech Media points out that it’s not just batteries when it comes to energy storage; that CALMAC is a major player with significant operations in California and has customers from New York City to Bangalore, India.

Make sure to listen to CALMAC CEO, Mark MacCracken, discuss the role of thermal energy storage in the wind industry with Wind Power Engineering and download our latest case study on LEED Platinum SAP America.
