How our systems work

Thermal Battery systems are Trane®-controlled chiller plants enhanced with CALMAC® thermal energy storage. The chiller plant operates like a battery: charging when excess or inexpensive energy is available, or when outdoor conditions improve efficiency, and discharging when demand is high, price is high or when the utility or grid operator asks for help meeting capacity.
