Newsletter January 2015

Welcome to the January issue of the CALMAC Energy Storage Newsletter.

In this issue we have articles from Huffington Post, Buildings, Solar Novus Today as well details on a recent project: the Pacific Palms Resort.

In the Huffington Post, CALMAC CEO Mark MacCracken expounds on how energy, especially at peak times impacts our environment and electric grid. And Treehugger suggest that in order to build a REAL steampunk condo, the building should have no parking, thick masonry walls, and be cooled by ICE.

At the Pacific Palms Resort a thermal energy storage system helps save energy costs and operational costs by shifting demand out of peak periods of the day. Other measures included upgrades to lighting and controls as well as a new building automation systems (BAS), chiller with a variable speed drive and boilers.
