CALMAC CEO, Mark M. MacCracken presented the webinar, “Energy Storage: A Vital Element in a Lower Carbon World” at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The webinar is now available online. Also online, a whopping 1,935 people liked PBS Nova’s Facebook page post that asks the question ‘What do melting walls and SUV-sized ice cubes have in common?” The post links to the article “Melting to Keep Cool” which features IceBank® energy storage and quotes from Mark!
In other news, CALMAC exhibited at Energy Storage North America where the 1500 Walnut project was a finalist in the Customer Sited Behind the Meter category. CALMAC also exhibited at the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) World Energy Engineering Congress and USGBC South Florida’s Tropical Green where CALMAC was a break sponsor and award sponsor for the USGBC South Florida Gala Verde Most Outstanding Green Government Award. Paul Valenta, CALMAC VP of Sales & Marketing, presented “Are You Ready for the Bright Future of Thermal Energy Storage?” at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Thermal Energy Storage Open Research Forum. And Trane gave a talk at the VCU School of Engineering on Ice Enhanced Air Cooled Chillers.
Featured CALMAC projects include DkIT, the ice enhanced air cooled chiller plant at Toledo Zoo, and LEED Gold Certified Randolph Community College.
