Hello everyone! Here’s what’s new.
There is exciting news out of California. The California Public Utilities Commission unanimously adopted a groundbreaking energy storage proposal for the state’s three investor-owned utilities to collectively buy 1.3 gigawatts of energy storage by 2020! Listen to Mark MacCracken, CEO of CALMAC, discuss the proposal’s technology options in this podcast interview. Mark also had a few words for The New York Times saying that, “Some California companies will meet the new storage requirement with ice systems”.

In more CALMAC news, Mark M. MacCracken will join Rafael Pelli, Partner at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and Steven Winter, Founder and President of Steven Winter Associates, as an official honoree for the Urban Green Council (USGBC-NYC) Gala awards. CALMAC is listed in a new GreenTechMedia market research report on the most promising energy storage applications and CALMAC sponsored the Most Outstanding Green Government Award for USGBC South Florida Gala Verde.
