Media Alert: CALMAC to Present at BuildingEnergy Boston and GLOBALCON 2016
What:
The Northeast is one of the most expensive energy markets in the U.S. However, did you know that for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers, nighttime energy in Boston is 70 percent cheaper than it is during the day? This is due to demand charges. Boston office buildings, schools, universities hospitals and other commercial energy customers have a demand charge of about $30 per kilowatt. Even customers who receive “flat rates” from their utility or third-party supplier pay a much higher rate during daytime hours due to demand charges. Energy storage allows a building to decouple when energy is bought from when it is used, allowing buildings to take advantage of dramatically less expensive energy. This is just one of the many reasons Beantown is poised to be a hot energy storage market.
CALMAC will discuss the benefits of energy storage at two conferences in Boston on March 9 and March 10, 2016, respectively.
BuildingEnergy Boston is a two-day conference and tradeshow organized by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA). It brings together premier sustainable design, green building and renewable energy professionals throughout the region.
GLOBALCON 2016 is a two-day conference presented by the Association of Energy Engineers that will explore ways in which businesses, governments and industry professionals can leverage new technologies and integrated solutions to stay ahead of the curve within a rapidly-developing energy market.
