Energy Storage Newsletter February 2018
Here's what's new with CALMAC Cool Thermal Energy Storage.
In this issue of CALMAC's energy storage newsletter, learn about a few applications of the CALMAC system. First, look at the LEED Silver Certified Kings County Courthouse building in Hanford, Calif., which resulted in reducing energy costs by 26 percent, which equates to more than $100,000 in energy savings annually.
Then watch as Jeptha Creed Distillery shares their story on finding an economical way to cool their product using a thermal energy storage system.
Lastly, a Trane facility has recently installed new Ice Storage chillers and is expecting a 5 percent energy reduction year-over-year. The ice thermal energy storage system allows for the most efficient use of chillers to occur, by running at night during low energy cost hours, and generating ice for daytime use during peak energy hours.
In more news, learn how thermal energy storage can help achieve carbon reduction goals. Gain understanding of the impact of cooling on the grid and operating costs. And see how batteries work synergistically with ice as a total energy storage solution.
