CALMAC to Present on Thermal Energy Storage at the World Energy Engineering Congress
What:
Covering a comprehensive range of energy cost control opportunities and innovative energy supply options, the World Energy Engineering Congress is known for attracting industry leaders from across the globe, including this year’s keynote speaker and US President Bill Clinton.
At this event, CALMAC executive Paul Valenta will be educating attendees on the importance of thermal energy storage and how it can be used to reduce peak demand, make more efficient use of renewable energy and maintain grid reliability. The use of ice-based energy storage at 1500 Walnut Street, a 22-story commercial building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will serve as a proof point during this session. It will detail how a once inefficient facility was able to turn an energy liability into an asset that can save as much as $40,000 in energy costs in a single month and generate $10,000 in revenue.
Who:
Paul Valenta is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CALMAC®, a global manufacturer of thermal energy storage products for commercial cooling. Paul, LEED Accredited Professional, is responsible for sales and marketing of IceBank® energy storage systems in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. He is a 32-year veteran of the HVAC industry, the last 21 being with CALMAC. Paul has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska and is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
