Calvin D. MacCracken - 1919-1999

Cal founded CALMAC Corp. (formerly known as Jet Heet) in 1947 as a research orientated company that is best known today for its global leadership in thermal energy storage and its ice rink technology. Cal invented over 250 products, most on behalf of other companies or the United States government. Over the years, his research led to products of significant importance for different industries and applications.

During the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Winter Meeting in January 2016, MacCracken was inducted into the ASHRAE Hall of Fame, joining other distinguished inventors such as Willis H. Carrier and Reuban N. Trane, for his milestone contributions to the growth of ASHRAE.
